Kurt Thompson, CGIA, CIC, CID, CIT, CLIA, CLWM, has been in the landscape and irrigation industry since 1982. He has worked as a landscape and irrigation contractor, in landscape and irrigation wholesale distribution, irrigation manufacturing, and water use consulting & training. He is currently the Director of Irrigation at Massey Services, Inc., a leading provider of landscape and irrigation services throughout the southeastern United States. Since 1988, Kurt has been educating thousands of contractors, architects, designers, and golf course superintendents across the United States. Kurt's speaking and training resume includes many of the United States and Canadian irrigation and turfgrass associations, universities and community colleges, as well as distributors and contractors. He is a contributing author of the Irrigation Association's premier textbook, Irrigation - Sixth Edition, and co-author of the leading resource for certification and state licensing, The Irrigation Contractor Exam Study Guide. Kurt graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. He is one of only nine people in the world to hold all six of the Irrigation Association's landscape/golf irrigation certifications. Additionally, he is a Licensed Irrigation Contractor in North Carolina, Certified Site Water Planner, Florida Water StarSM Irrigation AP, and an EPA Water Sense Partner. Kurt is currently serving as the vice-chair of the Education Committee of the Irrigation Association, represents the Irrigation Association as an Ambassador, member of the Florida Water StarSM Certification Task Force, Central Florida Water Initiative Conservation Committee, a Florida Water StarSM Irrigation AP Lead Trainer, a lead instructor for the Irrigation Association, National Association of Landscape Professionals Education Advocacy Group Committee and the Water Efficiency Rating Score (WERS) Technical Advisory Committee
